Retail Hell: Disorganized money
So I am in the last 15 minutes of my shift today & I get called over to a register (#13)
that I was previously on. The customer service managers were in the middle of pulling money from the registers. Here's what happened.
CSM did you switch the money?
M: yes
CSS: you can't do that
*here I'm thinking where in da rules does it say that it has to be in a certain order?*
Of course I didn't say that just to avoid more conflict.
And they keep bitching "It has to be in a certain order" "it's dangerous"
WTF? It's dangerous to put the money in a different order? Oh lawd help us!
seriously the next time I get robbed I'll hand the smaller bills first not the larger ones. Hell I'll bash the tray in the robers face..
And they tell me to make sure that I didn't do it on my other register which I didn't do. I ended up organizing all worthless bills to make the drawer look cleaner.
Then I walk back to my assigned register & mouthed "people are crazy" in which the customer hears and gets intimidated from it. Mission accomplished!
So next time I will not dis organize the money the damn register when I'm straightening the bills...

10 things I learned while working at a Walmart...so far
I have been working as a cashier at Wallmart for about 3 months now & I have learned quite a bit. Whether or not you dislike Wallmart it does seem to get a lot of attention in regards to worker treatment. These are some of the things that I have personally experienced so far. These are only my opinions and should not be taken to heart.
1. They're desperate for people.
They are always hiring people & yet they can't keep anybody. When they do hire people & get them trained in they eventually quit for something else. These people are mainly college students.
2. They are well aware of the criticism they receive.
Yes they know they suck and are trying their best to improve. There is a lot of tension that may explode into an all out civil war. From my experience the people that work there are miserable but they don't show it. There are people that genuinely like working there too which is hard to believe...
4. It is a very diverse place.
There is a wide array diversity at Walmart from old, young, veteran, male, female, disabled, just a wide variety of workers that make Walmart a melting pot of worker & shopper diversity.
5. Too many managers.
There are too many managers at Walmart. Walmart is a huge company but the store i work at has too many managers. You got the store manager & the assistant & then you have all the support & department managers & the district manager. Why so many managers?
6. It is a real job with real human workers.
Retail is a real job with real workers just like any other job. Our politicians just don't understand what a retail job is. It may be just another job for extra money to some but to others it is a career & yet it doesn't pay like it should.
7. The 10% discount.
10 percent discount on regularly priced merchandise and fresh produce at any walmart store and select merchandise on .com when you use your card. It does help with sales tax, but it just isn't enough. It should be increased so that the workers can afford to buy the products. If you really care about the workers at least show it by increasing the discount percentage.
8. Shoplifting is a big problem.
People shoplift so much that they had to lock up the cheap fragrances..
9. Most of the shoppers are generally poor, lower class & trashy.
If you want to see the current state of America look no further than to you local Walmart!
10. They dislike unions but their attitude is varied on the subject.
They have an open door policy which states that if you have problems you can talk with somebody & they will try their best to address it. They prefer the open door policy than unions.

Crazy Talk!: Texas is so crazy Norwegians are literally using ‘Texas’ as slang for ‘crazy’
(rawstory) - The reputation of Texas extends so far beyond U.S. borders that it has become slang for “crazy” in Norway.
Texas Monthly noted this week that the word “helt Texas” was being routinely used by Norwegians instead of “completely crazy” or “chaotic.”
And it’s not just on social media, Norway’s media has been including the phrase to describe everything from sporting events to a biologist finding a tropical swordfish in Norwayian waters.
“In Norwegian, ‘texas’ means mayhem and chaos, as in cowboys punching each other and breaking chairs over each other’s heads,” according to a Tumblr page cited by Texas Monthly. Some say the tradition dates back as far as the 1970s.
The Austin American-Statesman dug up a Reddit discussion from earlier this year where one Norwegian explained what Texas meant to him.
“It’s basically an idiom at this point,” the Redditor wrote. “When I think of the word I picture a cowboy crashing a party and shooting two revolvers into the air. ‘It’s completely texas!!'”

6 Healthy Habits You Should Start Following Today To Avoid Any Disease
(The following is for entertainment purposes only)
(Yahoonews) - The only person who can truly take care of your health is you. In today’s world of ever increasing pollution, stressful workloads and erratic time schedules, diseases and health related problems are at their peak. For keeping these diseases away, you need to modify your lifestyle and adapt healthy habits. So, read on to know all the tricks and tips for a healthy lifestyle.
#1. Have a wholesome breakfast
It is rightly said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast actually means ‘breaking the fast’. It is the first meal of the day after a long gap. Avoiding breakfast will lead to various digestive problems and also make you feel tired throughout the day. So start your day on a fresh and healthy note by eating a nutritious breakfast. Also do not forget to keep your intake of milk and other dairy products sufficient.
#2. Fall in love with your vegetables
Fresh vegetables are a rich source of fiber, essential nutrients and minerals. Adding these to your diet in the form of salads or juices will help to flush out toxins from your body and give your face a healthy glow.
#3. Drink plenty of water
All health and beauty experts emphasise on the importance of drinking water. You must try to drink at least eight to ten glasses of water in a day. Water helps cleanse your body and rejuvenates your skin. Insufficient intake may lead to severe dehydration.
Edit: Only drink water if you're thirsty! Drinking too much water can be bad for your health.
#4. Say no to cigarettes
Smoking not only causes cancer of the lungs and other dreadful health conditions, but also adversely affects your looks. It also harms the health of those who inhale the smoke passively. People who do smoke should quit for a longer and healthier life and also to set a good example for generations to come.
#5. Stay away from heavy fried and junk foods.
Junk foods or fast foods are very rich in spices, oils, trans fats, artificial preservatives and sugars. All these are responsible for causing ailments like high cholesterol, high blood sugar, hypertension and kidney or gall bladder stones. Also, eating fast foods is one of the main reasons behind obesity, especially in children. Instead of feasting on such foods, make an effort to eat a well balanced and nutritious home cooked meal.
#6. Sleep well
Experts suggest that we require at least eight to nine hours of proper uninterrupted sleep. For this you must never take long naps in the afternoon; if you wish to rest in the day take short power naps. Choose a comfortable and inviting mattress for your bed. Avoid a heavy meal at night and never go to bed right after dinner. Make it a point to go on a small walk after dinner so that the food gets digested.
Remember, health is wealth. Do adapt these healthy habits to live a long and healthy life!

Five Obstacles Job-Seekers Put In Their Own Way
(news.monster.com) - Every day when we read the news or listen to it, we learn about amazing people doing outrageous and fantastic things. Along with all the bad news in the world, any day we can learn about someone breaking some kind of barrier to do something important and wonderful.
Sometimes it’s a little kid writing to the president to say something that needed to be said. Sometimes it’s a senior citizen taking action to fix a problem that nobody focused on before.
Whenever one of these courageous people is interviewed, they are asked this question: “How did you make your dream a reality?”
They say “I just didn’t accept the idea that any barrier I faced was insurmountable.”
Job-seekers have natural obstacles to contend with as it is. The traditional recruitment process is completely broken. It is a disaster. That’s an obstacle for job-seekers, but only if they accept that there is only one way to job-hunt.
It’s a mental barrier that many people struggle with. They’ve been taught to follow rules, no matter whose rules they are or how foolish they may be.
Having been raised to follow every rule in sight, they don’t even apply for jobs unless they possess most of the qualifications listed in the job ad. That’s crazy!
The person who eventually gets that job will have somewhere between thirty and sixty percent of the published Essential Requirements for the job.
The more hidebound and weenietastic the organization is, the more they’ll hold out for a candidate who has most of the qualifications listed in the job ad. Once they write down the qualifications on paper, they become sacrosanct!
That’s not an organization that can flex with the changing market. You don’t want to work with people like that anyway!
There are enough hindrances and annoyances already baked into the job search process — why make a job hunt harder than it is?
Here are five obstacles job-seekers put in their own way. The good news is that they can take down these roadblocks any time they want!
Five Obstacles Job-Seekers Put In Their Own Way
1. The belief that only a full-time, salaried position in a certain kind of firm and function will be a good match for them.
2. The belief that the only way to job-hunt is to fill out an online application, as specified in the job ad.
3. The belief that the only jobs you can apply for and get are posted job openings.
4. The misconception that the way to brand yourself is to list your Skills and the job responsibilities you had in each of your past positions.
5. The mindset that employers are mighty and since you’re just one of many job-seekers on the market, you are insignificant.
These beliefs will have the effect on your job search that an anchor has on a speedboat. They will keep you from getting a great job that you deserve.
Let’s pick apart each of these man-made obstacles:
If you’ve worked as a full-time, salaried employee for decades, you might be spooked by the idea of getting a consulting business card and being open to taking on consulting clients. “But how can I job-hunt and do consulting business development at the same time?” you might wonder.
Here’s the answer, my pumpkin: those are not two different activities. They are the same activity! You’re going to network and reach out to hiring managers, which is to say department managers with problems.
If you land a consulting project while your job search is underway, that’s great!
You won’t stop job-hunting. A full-time job is just an open-ended consulting gig. You’re going to adopt a consultant’s mindset now and hang onto it as long as you keep working.
If you constrain your job search with the limitation that you can only consider a full-time job with benefits, that’s the practical equivalent of deciding “I can only take a job in a company with a three-syllable name and a Latvian CEO.”
It’s a random and unhelpful requirement that can only hurt you and slow you down.
If you believe that you must fill out online job applications in order to get hired, you are living in a dream world.
You have to find other channels apart from the broken Black Hole automated recruiting channel, and luckily alternate channels are everywhere.
You’ll use your network, your new consulting identity and your powerful Pain Letters to start conversations about pain and solutions with managers near and far. You’re going to take active control of your job search, rather than shrugging your shoulders and saying “It’s the economy!” or “It’s my age!”
You’ll scan Indeed and SimplyHired to see who’s looking for whom in the posted job ads, but you won’t confine your outreach to published job ads — not by a long shot!
You’ll write to any hiring manager who strikes your fancy, either because you read about his or her organization or heard about them from a friend or scouted them out on LinkedIn.
It doesn’t matter how a firm enters your field of vision. If you think you can help a manager surmount his or her Business Pain, then write and say so!
Forget about the tired and deadly-boring recitation of Skills and tell your human story in your resume and your LinkedIn profile.
Your path to get here is a million times more interesting than the responsibilities you held at each past job (which any thinking person can extrapolate from your job title, anyway). Tell us about your movie!
The last and most formidable self-made obstacle for a job-seeker is the mistaken belief that you are a little ant in comparison to large and powerful corporations and institutions. That’s completely false.
You have something unique and valuable to bring to your next employer — but only if you believe that you do!
If you’re not spending part of every day working on your mojo and building up your damaged self-esteem, you’re going to be a desperate job-seeker, and desperation is the most unfortunate characteristic a job-seeker can convey.
It’s easy to lose your mojo when you get laid off. It’s easy to forget how many big and gnarly problems you’ve already solved in your career. Don’t fall victim to these five do-it-yourself job-search obstacles.
Remember that not every employer deserves you. Only the people who get you, deserve you — the rest are welcome to live a long and happy life without you!

Treasury Department Honors Women With First Female Currency
(TheOnion) WASHINGTON—Saying it was time all Americans were equally represented, the U.S. Treasury Department announced Thursday that it would honor the nation’s women by introducing the country’s first female currency. “For too long, our currency has only been representative of half the country, but beginning today, women in the United States will finally be able to carry and use money that’s the same sex they are,” said Treasury Secretary Jack Lew, adding that the new female banknotes would feature softer green hues and a slightly smaller, shapelier form. “By introducing female currency into circulation, we are celebrating the strong and vital roles that women have played in shaping our nation. And when today’s girls see legal tender that is composed of both male and female bills, it sends a powerful message about our nation’s commitment to equality.” Lew followed his announcement by noting that the Treasury would introduce the first openly gay dimes into the economy as early as next year.

Canada Day Proclaimed in South Dakota
Governor Dennis Daugaard proclaimed February 18, 2015 Canada Day in South Dakota,
(kdltnews) Pierre SD - Government leaders from Alberta and Manitoba joined state lawmakers at the Capitol on Wednesday to celebrate the country's relationship with South Dakota.
It was a full house inside the Capitol as Consul General Jamshed Merchant greeted a joint session of the South Dakota House and Senate.
Through his address, Merchant explained the strong relationship between Canada and South Dakota and why the country is the state's number one trading partner.
Consul General Merchant said, "South Dakota and Canada share this immense relationship."
For 200 years, the United States has remained close to its friend from the north, and South Dakota has been a big part in helping the friendship flourish.
"A lot of Canadians love coming to South Dakota. Over 200,000 Canadians come visit a place like Mount Rushmore, but they leave money when they come. They leave lots of money in the economy,” said Merchant.
Putting money into the economy is a mutual deal between Canada and South Dakota.
Over $1 billion is accrued annually through trade between the U.S. and Canada, and a portion of that trade comes from over 28,000 South Dakota jobs.
Merchant said, "All the way from companies like Daktronics that make signs for hockey arenas, to fire engines from Rosenbauer, to companies that do manufacturing."
As the strong relationship continues to grow, February 18, 2015 was proclaimed Canada Day in South Dakota.

Brave New World: Tiffany & Co. Features 1st same-sex couple in engagement campaign
Jan 9 2015 (elle) = It's almost a cliché at this point—that a little girl dreams of opening a Tiffany blue box from her beau when he finally pops the question. But what about the boys who dream of being proposed to by their beaus?
For the first time, Tiffany & Co. is featuring a gay couple in its latest engagement campaign. (Fun fact: the pair are not models—which, really?!!—but an unnamed, real-life NYC couple.)
"Nowadays, the road to marriage is no longer linear, and true love can happen more than once with love stories coming in a variety of forms," said Linda Buckley, Tiffany & Co. VP of North American PR, in a statement to ELLE.com. "The Tiffany engagement ring is the first sentence of the story that a couple will write together as they create a life that is deeply intimate and exceptional, which is the message we hope to convey through this campaign." We all know Tiffany & Co won't feature a Xian & Jewish couple let alone an interracial polygamist group. I guess some people are more equal than others. When will the hate end?
Twitter them @TiffanyAndCo and say enough is enough! (end sarcasm)
